What to do when nothing works?

Quit!  Seriously, step away and give yourself some time to process what is going on.  Don’t quit completely, unless stopping is the only option.  It’s okay to take a breath and begin to think differently.  It’s like Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”  So if you feel like you’re spinning the same wheel over and over again, maybe it’s time to find a new wheel.

Giving yourself a break isn’t the same as becoming a slacker.  Taking a minute to review or reanalyze a situation doesn’t mean you spend the next 5 hours binge watching your favorite show.  What it means is that you take a break by going for a walk, meditating, visualizing, singing to some music or anything that works for you to clear your head. When you walk away you allow the answers to come to you easier.  When you sit at your computer and force yourself to come up with the answer you’ll find that you will spend more time staring at the screen then actually problem solving.  Remember back in elementary school when they would teach you to move on to the next problem in a test if you couldn’t figure out the answer?  Then you’d come back to the problem after you have successfully answered all of the other questions.  This is life.  Sometimes you need to take a minute and keep living then come back to the problem that has you stumped.  When you begin to force the situation you begin to slow down your success.  Stop being the person blocking you from success begin to think differently!

So quit….. only for a second….then get out there and solve your problems.
