Be aware and pay attention to what you are putting in your body.  What you eat and drink have a profound effect on who you become.  This sounds simple and basic and I’m sure you have heard it before, but did you know that if you do two simple things you can make yourself feel better?

The first is drink more water.  Make sure it is clean, fresh water.  Water is the building block of life and essential in all life forms.  The water that is in soda, tea, and energy drinks doesn’t count as water.  You need to consume good ole’ fashion water.  Water is amazing!  Water should make up 60% of your body mass.  That means that when you lose water through exercise, sweating, breathing and digestion, you need to replace what you have lost.  In order to replace water lost you can drink water or eat foods that are high in water content such as watermelon.  Not having enough water can cause health issues.  One common issue that most people experience and don’t contribute to lack of water is a headache.  Headaches are often a sign of dehydration.  So help yourself and drink plenty of water.

The second thing that will help you live a healthy life would be to give up the added sugars. Did you know that sugar is now added in almost all the foods we eat now?  Don’t believe me?  Look at the labels in the grocery store.  Read the actually ingredients.  If the sugar is a smaller amount, then they don’t list it on the nutritional label. But small amounts of sugar add up. Be a smart food shopper and food consumer, check the label.  If sugar is added to the ingredient list, then put the food back and see what else you can find instead that won’t add sugar to your food sources.  Science has proven that sugar causes massive amounts of health related issues, so why not put your sugar in take in check to help stay healthier.

To be the best you possible, just follow two simple rules:

  1. Drink more water
  2. Eat less sugar
