I wrote an article in a recent newsletter called Don’t be a Donkey.  I was pleasantly surprised at the overwhelming response of how many people liked one simple statement.  I started thinking, what about this newsletter resonated with so many people? I believe it’s because they like the concept of taking responsibility for their own actions and deciding not to be stubborn and to just go out for it.

Too many times we allow our stubborn side to hold us back.  It holds us back from trying new food, hanging out with different people and the most damaging thing it holds us back from is setting goals for ourselves. You see, donkeys wait for their owners to give them an order and then they either do it or they don’t.  They aren’t in control of deciding what the day will bring for them.  Are you a donkey?  Are you waiting for someone to tell you what to do and how to do it?  Do you then ponder the outcome and if you will or won’t do it?  If so, then YOU ARE A DONKEY!

You must change and break free from the ropes that have been holding you back.  It’s time to start to live.  Turn your attention from being a donkey to being a thoroughbred.  Step confidently and quickly into your dreams and goals.  When the gate opens be the first one out and take the lead.  Make everyone else try to catch you.  After all, you were born to run!  So start taking your first steps.
