Does your life feel like a traffic light? Every time you go to take a step towards your goals you stop yourself because you are afraid to fail?
You will hear that failure is part of the process, but don’t assume that applying the brake will avoid the learning moments. After all that’s what failure is….it’s a learning moment. Your body fails all the time. You can see it in children and athletes. I child fails when they are learning to walk. It’s the falling that causes the child to learn how to use their body correctly. It’s the falling that cause the child to strengthen themselves enough to hold themselves up on their own as they are preparing for their first steps. It’s the same with athletes. They take their body to the point of failure. They break down the muscle and then let it rebuild itself so that it becomes stronger. They push themselves to their physical and mental edge and the next day they rebound and grow.
Why are you stopping yourself? We need to stop viewing failure as a thing you did, instead it’s a thing you will do and explode out of to become better. Don’t get me wrong, failure and quitting are two completely different concepts. People that confuse quitting as failure are terribly mislead and most likely coming up short of their goals.
Stop complaining when you experience failures and go back to learning, working and rebounding.
